Evidence of water damage and flooding from busted water pipes at the Galena Park Branch Library

Yeah. Yes. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. The water came out to here like all the way to circulation desk stopped around here also went into office. Yeah. Yeah Piers there were at least four breaks up

in the ceiling. There are still some ceiling tiles intact that have water. We have some tipped lighting in a few areas that were filled it with water. The ceiling tiles were knocked down to relieve the pressure. Yeah. Lots of damaged books. Yeah these are book bundles.

These were materials for a future craft activity to go. Some more ceiling tiles tipped lighting. There's still water visible in a lot of behind a lot of sealing towels. Mhm. Still water upon some of the shelving. This is the juvenile area. Most of these books are

water damaged. Some of them were removed some state behind this is the young adults area. You can see a lot of them. These books are also water damaged. That appears to be the case for all of these shelves here. This is young adult nonfiction fiction and

young adult nonfiction fiction in spanish. The cds appear to be okay, manga collection looks wavy. Adult nonfiction hard to tell but oh no it's wavy. Very wavy. This is up against the wall which is not as close to the water source but still affected the books.

This is the adult spanish nonfiction. Most of this appears to be a complete loss although it's not soaked it is very much what with humidity. This is all the spanish nonfiction. All of it appears to be affected. We also have spanish fiction which appears to also

be greatly affected both paperbacks and hard covers. This is all spanish fiction. All of it appears to be affected. Dvds look okay actually audio books look okay. Probably all the magazines many of the magazines are not okay. Reference looks damaged. Also holds all of these holds

are damaged wow We're going to have to get the coin copy of people to come out and remove the copier. I am now in adult fiction which is also damaged. Paperbacks appear to be more damaged than hard covers. Mhm. But this again is not as close

to the water source but still affected greatly affected. Okay. Mhm paperbacks appear to be much more affected. Then hard covers. All the hard covers. Also the wavy oh so this is more against the wall which is not as close to the spill. The the paper breakage.

Um If you can tell the edges of a lot of these ceiling tiles are soaked but they're still up so hopefully they will not cause any sort of issues. While we're trying to clean up this looks like it's the most soaked. There's still precipitation coming off

the A. C. Unit. Great. Um All of these computers were probably not soaked but wet. I do see water on some of these computers. Yes there is water. There is water on a lot of these. Oh there's water on all of these computers. I see all

the keyboards or what now It's been Three days since this happened. It happened on the 16th. It is the 19th. Um water paint or something. Oh this morning books wow walk off when you can. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. So these might be a loss. Here's our

book bundles. These are all some of them are damaged some of our leftover valentine crofts. Our story time. Early literacy tits. Yeah. Mhm. I'm getting ready to go. I'm just filming real quick trying to show my admin what's going on. This is some of the books

that were moved. Mhm. Right. Some of these look damaged. These are all our board books they look like they might be salvageable. J. R. S. R wavy. These are the english language JR's um spanish board books were moved. They were over here before and they tried

to move as much as they could while they were here. But these all look damaged here is our J. Picks in english and as you can see they appear to be many of the books appear to be damaged. This is that makes sense though because this

was closer to the water. These are spanish I'm sorry these are character books in english. The juvenile section was impacted. These are the books that are furthest away from the water damage. What when I look at them I can see many of them have damage to

the pages. Very very humid. Very wavy. Um The audio books seem to be okay as well as the follow along readers as well as our juvenile audiobooks. Um These are against the wall furthest away from the water and as you can see hardbacks and paperbacks are

damaged, very damaged. I don't think this can be salvaged. Um That's pretty much what I have to show you. Um It doesn't appear that the computer lab or the meeting room or much of the work room are affected. So let me just show you that that

was mostly actually they were able to turn the lights on in there because there is no danger of getting electrocuted or anything. So our our wall sculpture fell down with the humidity. Here's some more books that were moved on that day. Some of these appear to

be okay. Some of them not so much, they move some cpus but all the cpus from the computer lab are still there. Um And luckily all of our lakeshore stuff, we had put it up for hurricane a few months ago and it appears to be okay.

So that's pretty much it. I don't think I have enough light to show you what office looks like. But the water came in here as well and as you can see they've removed the desk or the tear pad. There was a there was a heater in

here and they had to throw all of that away because it was soaking. Um All of my paper in here is wet, it is damaged wavy, mostly from humidity.
